The Charlevoix region is blessed with three national parks across its territory: Parc national des Grands-Jardins, Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie and le Parc marin du Saguenay Saint-Laurent.

The Charlevoix Mountain Route alone includes two of these three national parks.

Located in Saint-Urbain on Route 381, Parc national des Grands-Jardins is a veritable microcosm of Quebec’s Great North. The parks offer visitors numerous outdoor and discovery activities: Snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, hiking, wildlife observation, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rabaska canoeing and nature interpretation.

Located in the village of Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs, Parc national des Hautes-Gorges de la Rivière-Malbaie offers remarkable views across the Rivière Malbaie valley.  Park visitors enjoy bateau-mouche discovery cruises, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, bicycling, rabaska canoeing, wildlife observation and custom discovery activities.

For its part, le Parc marin du Saguenay Saint-Laurent spans across three tourist regions – the Charlevoix, Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean and Côte-Nord regions. The marine park’s mission is to preserve and protect this natural gem where the majestic waters of the world’s largest estuary mingle with those of the longest fjord in Eastern Canada.
